Group dining · Roma Norte · La Condesa

Restaurants in Roma Norte and Condesa that seat 12 to 16.

Most booking sites stop at six or eight. Past that it's an email, a phone call and a card on file. Here's where a table for fourteen actually works, from the people who run two houses here.

Booking for a group

How to book a table for 12 or more

Go direct

Online systems quietly refuse a big party, so organizers think the place is full when it isn't. Write or WhatsApp instead. Expect a card on file, sometimes a set menu, sometimes a deposit. Rosetta takes 700 pesos a head for parties of five to twelve, credited to your bill.

Arrive together

Several places hold the table only until the whole party is there, then give it away after ten or fifteen minutes. La Docena does this and charges 250 pesos a head for no-shows. Three Ubers take three routes. For a booked dinner, take one van.

Start early

Pujol, Quintonil, Máximo and Rosetta need two to three months. Sartoria, Fónico, La Docena and Contramar need one to two weeks, more for a group. Taquerías and markets need nothing at all.

Where online booking stops

The number that matters isn't the size of the room

Every restaurant has a party size where it stops taking bookings online. Almost none of them say so. These ones publish it.

  • Rosetta, Roma NorteFive online. Thirteen or more goes to their events address.
  • Contramar, Roma NorteOver seven, you email.
  • Entremar, PolancoOver seven, you email.
  • Pujol, PolancoThe dining room caps at eight. The private room seats fourteen.
  • Quintonil, PolancoSix or more, email directly.

Timing

Eat earlier than you think, and never plan a Monday dinner

Comida, the main meal, runs from about two to five. Dinner rarely starts before eight, and most rooms fill around half past nine.

  • Book lunch, not dinnerContramar and Entremar close at eight. Groups arrive at nine and find the lights off. Lunch at 2:30 is the better meal anyway.
  • Monday is the day offMáximo, Broka and plenty of others close. Plan a market, a taquería or dinner at the house.
  • Breakfast for fourteenThe hardest meal to book. El Cardenal opens at eight with a private room. Butcher & Sons in Condesa opens at 8:30 and will say yes to thirteen. Azul serves breakfast Wednesday to Sunday, nine to twelve.
  • TippingTen to fifteen percent, in pesos, and almost never included. Check the bill for propina incluida first.

Or stay in

Bring the dinner home: a chef at the house

Casa Mérida's rooftop has a table for sixteen and a grill. Casa Atlixco has a long dining table off the garden. A chef cooks, serves and clears up, nobody needs a car, and nobody splits a bill fourteen ways. Have a chef cook at the house.

Good to know

What group organizers ask us

How far ahead should we book a table for 14?

Two to three months for Pujol, Quintonil, Máximo or Rosetta. One to two weeks, and more for a group, for places like Sartoria, Fónico or Contramar. Book your two most important meals as soon as your dates are fixed.

The website says the restaurant is full. Is it?

Often not. Most online systems stop at six or eight covers and refuse anything larger without explaining why. Email or WhatsApp the restaurant directly.

Should we book lunch or dinner?

For the big meal, lunch. Comida is the main meal here, and some of the best places close at eight. Keep dinner on the first night small and near the house.

How do we get 14 people there at the same time?

Hire a van with a driver. For a vehicle big enough for your group, budget 4,000 to 6,500 pesos for eight or nine hours. It's the one thing that keeps a restaurant from giving your table away.

Can you book the restaurants for us?

Yes. When you stay with us, tell us your dates and the meals that matter and the Enterra team makes the calls, in Spanish, before you land.

Are these prices current?

We checked them in August 2026. Mexico City changes fast, so call ahead for anything that matters, or ask us and we'll do it.
